About
What more is there to say about this illustrious baritone? Gabriel Bacquier has interpreted many French melodies with the quality of his voice and the intensity of his emotion, conveying the poetry and music with the respect they deserve by means of his subtle sensibility.
His musicality and his skill in the art of singing are combined with an immediately identifiable voice.
One composer interpreted by Bacquier was certainly the most demanding: Mozart. He remained THE mythical Don Giovanni of the second half of the twentieth century and was the first Frenchman to sing it at Aix-en Provence. He was THE Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro from Paris to Glyndebourne and from New York to Vienna.
